How to Do da Troll?

a Roleplayers' guide

3: Troll accent

The most noticable thing about trolls is the way they speak.

All trolls speak two languages: Orcish and Troll. They speak the former with heavy accent, which is not easy to describe; it’s very close to Jamaican, but has also Hispanic characteristics. An example: when a troll wants to say „That is a good choice, man!”, he says „Dat be good choice, mon!” instead. Every troll’s accent differs a bit, due to different character background.

There are some add-ons that turn your words more trollish. It can be useful, but sometimes hard to control, so it’s preferable (and also more fun) if you create your own accent for yourself. If you are insecure about it, you can learn it from other trolls easily.

There are several occasions when you should NOT use troll accent:

When you speak OOC (except for humourous situations).

When you speak in Troll, since it’s your native language.

When you write. Most trolls cannot write, but if they do, it will surely not reftect their accent.
